Gay Canadian Idol Dave Moffatt starts a blog Once upon a time a band called The Moffatts became a Canadian teen pop sensation that made four brothers - oldest Scott, and triplets Clint, Bob and Dave - household names. In October, 2001, the group broke up. Why? Dave realized he was gay and left home. Apparently he didn't speak to his father/manager for over a year. He went back to school at the University of Winnipeg, decided to become an actor/model, hosted a karaoke night at a local gay bar and came back into the limelight as a Canadian Idol contestant (video). And now, Dave has a blog where he writes, "i'm dave moffatt. yes i'm the brother who broke up the band. *laughs* that's the only way anyone seems to remember me now. ... there is stuff going on in my life though. i'm at school now, majoring in english. the vet rumour wasn't true. ... the gay rumour was though."
