Vermont college allows military recruiters, if they explain policy

More than 150 Middlebury College students and faculty questioned a U.S. Marine Corps recruiter Tuesday night about the military's policy on gays, an hourlong session the college required under new rules before allowing the recruiter on campus. Middlebury hadn't allowed a military recruiter on campus in decades because of the military's policy against openly gay servicemembers. Last week, the school decided to allow recruiters that violate its anti-discrimination policy on campus, so long as they explain themselves.
