Mianne Bagger cleared to play golf in British events
Transsexual golfer Mianne Bagger will compete in the Weetabix Women's British Open this summer because the Ladies' Golf Union, which runs the championship, has revised its gender policy to now allow women who were not biologically female at birth. "I do not believe there will be any great effect on our championships, but for one or two individuals our gender policy will now present them with a realistic opportunity of competing at the top level of amateur or professional golf," said Andy Salmon of the Ladies' Golf Union.
