The lesbian sweeps week kiss: a TV staple since 1991

The New York Times points out what you already know: If women are kissing each other on TV, it must be the February sweeps. "Hooray for the all-purpose lesbian kiss, then, cynical though it may be. L.A. Law did it in 1991. Picket Fences did it in 1993. ... Roseanne, of course Ellen, Party of Five and Ally McBeal ... And, though 2004 was dry, we've had about one a year since 2001," writes Virginia Heffernan. This year's smoochers are the twentysomething "teens" on The O.C. (pictured), and even though we're cynical, at least the O.C. kissers have a relationship, too. [Date: 15-Feb-05 ]
