Just imaging, you are strolling down a river of more than 2,000 years old, on a sunny but fresh September afternoon, All of a sudden you see a movement in the water. Curious as you are, you decide to stop and watch…. Full of expectation of what might be there in that cold dark water. A shadow appears under the surface of the river and you decide to hide yourself behind some trees, with clear view on what is about to happen. Then the water parts and a beautiful man rises, like a creature of nature, serene and divine. You can only hold your breath and wish you had brought a camera.

Photographer Hans Hadorn did bring his camera to this scenic location. He also brought Nick Beyeler, because he knows this story is nonsense and there really is no point in waiting for a guy to rise out of the river on a fresh fall afternoon. So if the legend doesn’t exist, why not create it. Hans and Nick have done so. And with success. -B-
