Japan legislator Kanako Otsuji comes out as a lesbian Kanako Otsuji, the Japanese legislator of the Osaka Prefectural Assembly, told reporters that she's a lesbian and she's publishing an autobiography that centers on her quest for sexual identity soon. "Homosexual people have often kept silent for fear of discrimination and prejudice. By declaring I'm homosexual, I would like to highlight the problems and put an end to a vicious circle of discrimination and prejudice," Kanako Otsuji said. She added, "I believe that coming out as a homosexual is the best thing I can do to encourage numerous people." Her book will soon be published by Kodansha Ltd. Osaka, a city with a population of 8.84 million, is the second largest city in Japan. �
