Brokeback Mountain's gay cowboys ride off with the Venice Golden Lion Brokeback Mountain, film director Ang Lee's gay cowboy love story that I've been telling you about, is apparently a lot better than recent rumors have painted. In fact it won Venice's Golden Lion award this weekend, a prestigious honor, beating film festival favorite George Clooney to take the top prize. Lee, pictured, best known from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," adapted Annie Proulx's novel and cast Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal as the Wyoming range riders who fall for one another and whose love affair spans 20 years. �
