Dusty Springfield's bisexual life becomes a musical
Dusty Springfield's bisexual life becomes a musical Some of you may not be aware of Dusty Springfield's turbulent and envelope-pushing history. She was one of the first artists to refuse to play to segregated audiences in South Africa, and, in a particularly brave move for the times, she came out of the closet as bisexual in a 1970 interview. Springfield, who died of breast cancer of 1999, is the subject of a new Suzanne Fletcher musical, "A Girl Called Dusty," that has me thinking about taking a quick trip to P-Town to catch it. Maybe we'll all be lucky enough to see it tour following it's run there. [Date: 09-Jul-05 ]
