ABC cancels homophobic Welcome to the Neighborhood

ABC cancels homophobic Welcome to the Neighborhood "Welcome to the Neighborhood," the ABC reality series, has been cancelled. Queer Day is applauding. Let me tell you about it. The show premise had families being asked to pick a new neighbor in order to expose them to differences and overcome their biases. Sounds good in theory at least, right? Three conservative white families in Austin, Texas, were given a neighborly choice between a black family, hispanic family, asian family, two gay white men who've adopted a black child, a couple covered in tattoos and piercings, and a poor white family. Affection between the gay men provoked disgust. Viewers were to be treated to racist, classist, homophobic programming each week. Thanks for figuring it out ABC.
