Zimbabwe athlete Samukaliso Sithole under fire for being male
Zimbabwean "transvestite" athlete Samukaliso Sithole is being prosecuted after winning medals and titles in women's athletics and Sithole's blaming a witch-doctor's faulty spell. A Bulawayo court heard that Sithole competed in domestic and regional competitions for women after a tribal healer gave him female status, but Sithole said the spell didn't work because the healer's full fee wasn't paid. The Zimbabwe Athletics Association says Sithole could be stripped of all titles and prize money and that Sithole competed in several women's disciplines, with reported success for Zimbabwe in last year's Southern Region Athletics Championships in Botswana.BBC, The Herald[Date: 10-Feb-05 ]
