Verka Serduchka to continue in Eurovision Song Contest
Drag performer Verka Serduchka will make her appearance in the second Russian semifinal of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev, to take place on Friday. Verka (real name Andrej Danilko), earlier reached the esctoday.com headlines when he withdrew from the Ukrainian Eurovision Song Contest. The Ukrainian jury selecting the songs expressed its criticism about Verka, doubting her vocal skills and fearing that her image of talkative and humorous Ukrainian aunt would not be accepted by the European audience. We're guessing that's not going to stop her.
