U.S. conservatives funding opposition to marriage in Canada

U.S. conservative groups Focus on the Family and the Knights of Columbus are reportedly spending the big bucks in Canada trying to persuade legislators there not to approve a federal law allowing same-sex marriage. Most provinces already have such laws. Canadian Justice Minister Irwin Cotler says those groups have a right to make their views known and there is no legal avenue to stop them, but that he hopes a U.S.-style lobbying atmosphere doesn't take hold. "I just would like to maintain the integrity of the Canadian political culture."
