Thousands of same-sex couples flood U.S. marriage bureaus for licenses
The Reverend Troy D. Perry (shown right) called again for thousands of same-sex couples to flood marriage bureaus today to apply for marriage licenses, drawing attention to the lack of marriage rights for gays and lesbians. Perry and his husband, Phillip DeBleck (shown left), filed the California lawsuit asking the state to recognize their Canadian marriage. They're returning to the courthouse today amidst speculation that the Superior Court in San Francisco might issue its ruling today. Meanwhile, thousands of gay and lesbian couples are expected to apply for marriage licenses across the U.S. this Valentine's Day.Yahoo[Date: 15-Feb-05 ]
