Scissor Sisters get homophobic hate mail

scissor sisters The New York City band named after a lesbian sex act have found their sexuality hasn't been an issue for them in Britain and Australia. "Which is wonderful," Jake Shears says. "People in the UK, um, y'know, more so than in the United States, realize that music transcends sexuality. After their performance on Saturday Night Live the band became the target of a whole lot of hate mail. "It's an issue [in America]. People have problems with it. But really, I think, it's just probably problems they have with themselves more than anything."
