Lesbians led double lives for almost 40 years

For nearly four decades, Janet Sager and Joyce McPherson led double lives. To the couple's mail carriers and grocers, to their bankers and lawyers, to their landlords and neighbors, even to most of their co-workers and friends, Sager and McPherson were just another pair of spinsters, two female relatives probably living together to make ends meet because they couldn't find mates. "Joyce was the aunt and I was the niece. I called her 'Aunt Joyce,'" says Sager. But they were a little more than that, and now Sager's on a mission. A nice human interest story from Kentucky.
